I miss CrossFit at L’Usine!!!!

Oh how I miss CrossFit at L’Usine and Montreal. As many of you know, I moved to Toronto in March and have been forced to do CrossFit in “globo gyms”. Meaning…I am the crazy nut in the corner (and the only one sweating and NOT on the phone) that everyone thinks is posessed. Atleast M is here to be posessed with me!

Today we did FRAN. (my PR 4:36) My time today….5:50….AYOYE!

We are at 47!

Allo Dom!

So last Tuesday marked my 6 months anniversary of doing crossfit!  I simply wanted to do a follow up from the last “before and after” pic I had sent you at the end of April.

As you can see, I have a neck nowJ  LOL!!

Once again, I am amazed on how crossfit is working for me.  I have never felt as in shape as I do now.  I have more energy than ever, and I am even doing things I thought I was never going to do – like last week when I went tandem skydiving!!

Thank you and the entire L’Usine Crossfit family for your support and encouragement.  I look forward in what I can achieve in the next 6 months!!

July 8th

Chris,
I went to the box at 7:00 this morning.  I am TOTALLY spent!!!  Great workout. The trainer held us to all the strict Crossfit standards. He sounded just like the trainers at Crossfit Champions. You must all be indoctrinated at Crossfit certification :)

Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I needed scaling and some modifications and those were graciously provided.  (My age is 59.)  Fabulous way to start the day.  I want to go back Friday and Monday for more brutality.  And I will be back the first two weeks of August and would like to attend then.  And, of course, I want a L’Usine t-shirt.

Thank you for allowing me to visit your box and work out with such a phenomenal group of people.  What a support group they were for me.

Just curious, what does L’Usine translate to in English?

July 9th

Okay, another awesome L’Usine workout at 7:00 A.M.  We warmed up, then did back squats. Sandra worked with me and I enjoyed that. She is a great partner.  Wow, your members are very strong. Very heavy weights on those bars around the gym.

I thought after the back squats the WOD was finished.  Silly me!  I forgot where I was–I was at Crossfit–not a globo gym :)  So, of course there was more.  My challenge for the day was stepping up onto a box (I think 18″ or 20″) with a 25 lb. plate. Wow–I usually use a 12″ box. But, I was able to do it. So I accomplished something that I can now do at CFChampions.

Again, many, many thanks to Dominic for his personal training and instructing me on the correct depth for the back squat.  I’ll also remember that when I return to the CFC box.  Would you mind forwarding this to Dominic. I’d like to bring a CFC t-shirt to him when I return in August. I forgot to ask him for his size this morning.

I’m looking forward to Monday. I certainly need a rest day tomorrow after two very vigorous WODs.
